On December 6, Dispatch reported that Park Na Rae had received illegal medical services from this "injection lady," including intravenous injections of prescription drugs. After the incident was exposed, netizens discovered that Oneu had given the "injection lady" an autographed CD, leading to calls for him to clarify whether he was involved in any illegal medical practices.

On December 11, GRIFFIN Entertainment, Onew's agency, released an official statement detailing the incident:

The statement indicates that Onew first visited a clinic in Sinsa-dong in April 2022 through an acquaintance, where Ms. A happened to work. At the time, the clinic appeared legitimate and did not exhibit any suspicious features related to the current controversy. Onew's visit was solely for skin treatments, and the autographed CD he received was simply a token of gratitude for the treatments.

The agency expressed deep regret over the rampant speculation online that was unrelated to the facts, and emphasized that it hoped the outside world would stop making baseless speculations. It also stated that it would continue to do its best to protect Oneu's reputation and legal rights.
